What can go in a skip

Not accepted

Sorry, we cannot accept fridges, freezers, car tyres or asbestos in our skips. Any of these placed in a skip will be returned to the customer.

Our terms also rule out asbestos related products, refrigerants, household electronics, gas bottles, sealed containers, oil or chemical products, any other hazardous waste, and animal faeces.

Soil and hardcore

• Soil and hardcore can no longer be mixed with general waste.
• They must be loose in the skip, not bagged.
• Soil can be mixed with hardcore.
• General waste can be placed on top of the soil, but not mixed in or under it.

6 and 8 yard skips: light waste only

The 6 yard and 8 yard skips are strictly for light waste only. No concrete, bricks, ceramics, soil or plasterboard. If the skip contains any of these, it will be returned.

Plasterboard

Any plasterboard in the smaller skips must be placed on top of the skip. Large amounts of plasterboard are not accepted in a general skip.

Paint, oil and other liquids

Liquids such as paint and oil must be double bagged and placed on top of the skip.

Mattresses, sofas and foam furniture

Because of extra charges at waste transfer stations, mattresses, sofas, chairs and any other furniture containing foam are charged an extra £40 + VAT each. Any of these hidden in a skip will be returned to the customer.
